Climate Communications & Outreach/Engagement Strategy Consultation: eTown Hall
From March to May of 2026, I had the incredible opportunity to work with eTown Hall in Boulder on their climate communications, storytelling, and community engagement strategies.
My role was never to come in and reinvent their sustainability work, which they already did a fantastic job with. Instead, it was about helping strengthen how those stories, values, and impacts are communicated outward through messaging, storytelling, coalition-building, and community engagement.
Throughout this consulting role, I developed:
• A strategic outreach tracker to help grow and manage aligned partnerships and long-term coalition building
• A content strategy centered around movement-building, storytelling, and turning audiences into active participants
• Website recommendations to better showcase eTown’s sustainability leadership, values, and operational achievements
Beyond the deliverables themselves, what really inspired me was learning the story behind this organization. The more digging I did, the more I realized eTown is a case study in what becomes possible when values remain at the center. From building an NPR-distributed radio show from scratch after initial rejection, to surviving repeated financial hurdles through persistence and community support, to transforming a deteriorating building into a world-class sustainable venue that prioritizes sustainability systems, intentional design, and incredible acoustics even under major financial constraints, eTown has consistently chosen mission and stewardship over convenience.
I’m beyond grateful to the whole eTown team for trusting me with this work and welcoming me into the process. This experience only strengthened my belief that music and storytelling are among sustainability's best-kept secret weapons and are absolutely vehicles for cultural and environmental change.
Very excited for what’s next 😊🌎🎶
