Environmental Advocacy Resources:

Below you’ll find some quick but powerful different ways to raise your voice and help protect the places and wildlife we love, as well as current events hosted by some of our partners.

Included are opportunities to:

-Write your reps, which puts your views directly in front of the people who vote on laws. Enough messages can influence how they decide.

-Submit Public comments, which let you tell government agencies what you think about a proposed rule before it becomes law, which they must consider.

-Sign Petitions, pledges, personal commitments, and other similar actions to support a cause. Often used to show strength in numbers.

While petitions, pledges, and “call your senator” actions are powerful tools for building momentum, one of the most impactful aspects of this activation is how effortlessly it makes caring feel cool. When I personally see artists endorsing and uplifting these efforts, I think it sends a clear message: showing up for the planet is not just important, it’s damn cool! Be sure to shout out or thank the artists that brought you here :)

The following engagements are split into the following groups:

-Public Lands

-Fishing, Fisheries & Wildlife Conservation

-National monuments & Greenhouse Gas deregulation

-Upcoming Events

Public Lands

  • The Nature Conservancy: SIGN THE "Protect America’s Land" PETITION

Our public lands, places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Bryce, are the heart of our wild spaces. But development, climate change, and lack of funding put them at risk. These lands are treasures, and they need us to speak up. Join the call to protect them, sign the petition and keep the wild alive.

  • Write Your Reps: Keep Public Lands Accessible & Fund LWCF and Federal Agencies

The House bill addressed includes deep cuts to public land management agencies like the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. These cuts threaten the staff, infrastructure, and programs that make public lands accessible and usable for a wide range of stakeholders, including hunters and anglers…”

Write your senator and tell them “NO!”

  • Join Outdoor Alliance Protect backcountry national forests: Support the Roadless Rule

The Roadless Rule conserves public lands and protects a range of recreational opportunities in the backcountry. Protecting Roadless Areas from large-scale mining, oil and gas drilling, logging, and new road construction protects outdoor experiences.

Write your reps, lets pass this bill!

Fishing, Fisheries & Wildlife Conservation

  • GIVE FEEDBACK on: Sustaining America’s Fisheries for the Future Act

Sustaining America’s Fisheries for the Future Act updates the Magnuson-Stevens Act, the main law for managing U.S. ocean fisheries. It tackles climate change, habitat loss, and overfishing while making fishery management fairer for coastal communities, tribes, and future generations.

Here is a sample script to help you write your senator and give deedback on this crutial bill!

     Hey [Rep’s Name],

I’m writing you today from a live music event’s sustainability booth. If I’m hitting pause on dancing at a music festival to write you, you know this matters. H.R. 3718 would update our main U.S. fisheries law to protect ocean habitats, make fisheries climate-ready, and keep coastal communities thriving for the long haul.

Besides for my love for fishing, I know that healthy oceans mean healthy fish, and healthy fish mean food, jobs, and balance in our ecosystems. Overfishing and climate change are already putting pressure on the water, we can’t afford to ignore it.

Please cosponsor and vote YES on H.R. 3718. Let’s keep our oceans alive and our fisheries sustainable for generations to come.

    Thanks so much!,

  • ASK CONGRESS to Conserve Wildlife Corridors

The Wildlife Movement Through Partnerships Act would help protect migration corridors for deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, and other big game. It funds states, tribes, landowners, and nonprofits to improve habitat, remove movement barriers, and reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions, while coordinating efforts across federal agencies.

  • Support the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (S. 1149): SIGN THE PETITION!

The Recovering America's Wildlife Act will help conserve our nation's fish and wildlife by dedicating up to $1.4 billion for state-level conservation and $97.5 million to Tribal Nations to recover and sustain healthy fish and wildlife populations. The funding will be used to implement on-the-ground conservation efforts such as:

    -conserving and restoring habitats,

    -fighting invasive species,

    -reintroducing native species, and

    -tackling emerging diseases

  • Protect Our Rivers, Protect Our Access – Sign the Petition for Stream Access!

Colorado’s rivers and streams are the heart of our outdoor heritage, drawing thousands of recreationists each year for floating, fishing, and enjoying the water.

Yet, access to these waterways is increasingly threatened, limiting the public’s ability to experience and protect these vital ecosystems.

The Colorado Stream Access Coalition is fighting to secure legal public access to our rivers while ensuring responsible management and environmental conservation. We believe everyone should have the right to paddle, fish, and explore Colorado’s rivers without fear of trespassing on private property.

By signing this petition, you are standing up for:

Guarantee Public Access: Secure the right to float, scout, portage hazards and wade on rivers that pass through private property, ensuring that the public can safely travel and recreate on Colorado’s rivers and streams that are navigable by reasonable means.

The protection of private property while ensuring responsible recreation

Stronger environmental stewardship through increased public engagement

Join us in securing our right to access and protect Colorado’s rivers for future generations.

National monuments & Greenhouse Gas deregulation

  • Protect National Monuments: Sign the Petition

Politicians and Washington D.C. insiders are attacking our national monuments. They’re working to remove protections from important cultural landscapes designated as national monuments, open them up for mining and drilling, or sell them off.

They’re also attacking the Antiquities Act, the law that allows presidents to designate national monuments. Show your support for protecting our monuments by signing the petition.

  • EPA Proposes to Rescind GHG Endangerment Finding, LEAVE A PUBLIC COMMENT to say "NO THANK YOU"

Description goeIn 2009, the EPA officially said: greenhouse gases are dangerous to our health and safety. Because of that decision, the EPA has been allowed to set pollution limits for new cars and trucks.

Now the EPA wants to undo that 2009 decision. If they undo it, the EPA would lose the legal power (under the Clean Air Act) to set greenhouse‑gas rules for new vehicles.

Here is a sample script to help you Leave a public comment:

    Hey EPA,
I’m writing you today from a live music event’s sustainability booth. If I’m taking time out of a night of fun to write this, you know it’s serious. The 2009 Endangerment Finding is the thing that lets you keep greenhouse gas pollution from cars and trucks in check. Without it, you’re basically throwing away our clean air, our climate, and our future.

Transportation is the #1 source of climate pollution in the U.S., and you’re talking about removing the one rule that keeps it in line. That’s not just bad policy,  that’s playing with people’s health.

So please, quit messing around. Keep the Endangerment Finding. Keep strong vehicle pollution standards. We need clean air more than corporate polluters need bigger profits.

    Thanks so much,

  • Don’t let the Trump administration give the worst polluters a free pass

The EPA has opened a backdoor to help the worst polluters skirt clean air laws – by inviting applications for a Presidential exemption from pollution safeguards.

This puts our fundamental right to clean air at risk and exposes communities to known health hazards, including brain-damaging mercury, cancer-causing benzene and arsenic and dozens of other hazardous and toxic chemicals linked to serious health effects.

These companies shouldn't get a free pass to pollute! Take action today by sending the Trump Administration a powerful message: “don't give the worst polluters a free pass!”

  • Slashing Landfill Methane Emissions in Colorado A statewide campaign to cut methane and its harmful impacts on communities

Landfills are a major source of methane—a potent greenhouse gas—generated when organic waste like food scraps and yard debris break down without oxygen. This invisible pollutant leaks into our atmosphere, driving global warming at an alarming rate.

Tackling landfill methane emissions is one of the quickest, most effective ways to slow near-term warming and reduce climate pollution. The Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE) has already started the rulemaking process to reduce landfill methane, and Eco-Cycle and our allies are building a statewide awareness and action campaign to encourage the state of Colorado and the Air Quality Control Commission to adopt the strongest possible update to the state’s landfill methane control requirements. Together, we can set a precedent for the nation. ît ici
